The Hemophilia Foundation of Greater Florida, a Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation, has been helping people with bleeding disorders since 1996. We have helped the bleeding disorders community improve their quality of life by offering programs and services to support healthier and more independent lives.

Amount:  Two $1,500.00 scholarships
Candidate:  Person, or immediate family member, with hemophilia or other inherited bleeding disorder residing in Michigan.

Scott Tarbell Scholarship

Amount:  $1,500.00 and up (multiple scholarships available)
Candidate:  Students with severe hemophilia A or B only.  Applicants must be US citizens majoring in computer science or math at a technical/vocational school, college or graduate school in US.  This scholarship can also be used to pursue computer certifications such as MCSE, CNE or NCA.

The BioRX Hemophilia of North Carolina Educational Scholarship

Amount:  Four  $2,000.00 scholarships
Candidate:  Established in 2004, the BioRx Educational Scholarships are intended for anyone in the country living with a bleeding disorder, including caregivers of children affected with bleeding disorders, a person who has been diagnosed with a bleeding disorder, or a sibling of a person diagnosed with a bleeding disorder. (“Bleeding disorder” is limited to clotting factor deficiency disorders, specifically: hemophilia A, B, and C; von Willebrand Disease; and factor V (parahemophilia), factor VII, factor X, and factor XIII deficiencies.)
While the scholarships are available to anyone with a bleeding disorder, preference is given to applicants who are working toward completing coursework in a healthcare related field at accredited colleges or certified training programs. At least one award will go to someone studying in a health related field.

Soozie Courter Hemophilia Scholarship Program

2010-2011 applications for SOOZIE COUTER "Sharing a Brighter Tomorrow" Hemophilia Scholarship Program are now available at the www.hemophiliavillage.com Web site or by calling our hotline at 1-888-999-2349.  
Candidate:  This program awards scholarships to students with hemophilia A or B who present the best combination of academic achievement, letters of recommendation, and a personal essay.  The program is open to high school seniors, students who have completed high school or an equivalent program (eg. graduate equivalency diploma [GED], and students enrolled in an accredited college or university at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Applications can be downloaded from Hemophiliavillage.com, following the steps under "Program and Services" for the Lifelines program.  The application needs to be printed, completed, and sent to:

Christopher Mark Pitkin Memorial Scholarship

Amount:  Minimum of two annual $1,200.00 scholarships
Candidate:  All members of the hemophilia community, including spouses and siblings.  Applicants must be pursuing a post-high school, college or technical/trade school education.  People with HIV and hemophilia and their families are encouraged to apply.  Southern CA residents given preference.
